An isolated antibody or fragment thereof capable of distinguishing and recognizing the multidimensional conformation of one or more Aβ (amyloid beta) -derived diffusible ligands, and related to Aβ-derived diffusible ligands Methods for preventing or treating diseases, methods for identifying therapeutic agents that prevent binding of Aβ-derived diffusible ligands to neurons, and methods for detecting Aβ-derived diffusible ligands and diseases associated with Aβ-derived diffusible ligands Providing a method of diagnosis. An antibody, which is also known as ADDL, distinguishes and recognizes the multidimensional structure of an Aβ-derived diffusible ligand. Differentiate Alzheimer's and control human brain extracts, detect ADDLs, and diagnose Alzheimer's disease. The antibodies also block ADDL binding to neurons, ADDL assembly and tau phosphorylation, thus preventing diseases associated with soluble oligomers of amyloid β1-42. [Selection] Figure 1 |
