abstract | The present invention provides a lubricant capable of improving transfer efficiency even when toner having a fine particle shape and a spherical shape is used, a process cartridge using the same, and an image forming apparatus. A lubricant is applied to a surface of a latent image holding member (photoreceptor) provided in an image forming apparatus by a lubricant applying device. This lubricant comprises an alkyl ketene dimer alone or contains a mixture of an alkyl ketene dimer and a metal stearate. Further, the lubricant may be applied to the intermediate transfer belt.
