abstract | Provided are a lubricant supply device, a process cartridge, and an image forming apparatus in which chipping of a cleaning blade is reduced to reliably prevent the occurrence of defective cleaning and the life of a solid lubricant is extended. A variable pressure mechanism 16c is provided for biasing the solid lubricant 16b toward the lubricant supply roller 16a so that the contact pressure of the solid lubricant 16b with the lubricant supply roller 16a can be varied. The variable pressure mechanism 16c is controlled so as to vary the contact pressure of the solid lubricant 16b against the lubricant supply roller 16a based on a predetermined condition.
