System and method for detecting actuation voltage and release voltage of an interferometric modulator |
abstract |
A method for determining one or both of an actuation voltage and a release voltage of a microelectromechanical device is provided. Applying at least two different potentials to at least one electrode connected to the device and detecting at least one electrical response of the device at the at least two different potentials. Based on determining the state at least in part, one or both of the actuation voltage and the release voltage is determined. The apparatus is part of a system that includes an array of interferometric modulators suitable for display. This method is used to compensate for temperature dependent changes in display pixel characteristics. [Selection] Figure 6 |
