abstract | Provided is a magenta toner that improves coloring power and suppresses image defects such as development streaks over a long period of time when a magenta toner using a plurality of pigments is produced by a suspension polymerization method. A polymerizable monomer composition containing a polymerizable monomer, a wax, a colorant A, a colorant B, a polar resin A and a polar resin B is added to an aqueous medium, and the polymerizable monomer composition in the aqueous medium is added. In a magenta toner containing toner particles obtained by granulating a monomer composition to form particles of a polymerizable monomer composition and polymerizing the polymerizable monomer in the particles, the colorant A is quinacridone. Gel Permeation Chromatography, Colorant B is a naphthol pigment, Polar Resin A is a polyester resin, Polar Resin B is a carboxy group-containing styrene resin A magenta toner having a weight average molecular weight of 8,000 to 50,000 measured by lithography.
