In one aspect, the invention provides a method of inhibiting the activity of one or more kinases in a patient, wherein the kinase is from the group consisting of Akt kinase, checkpoint kinase, Pim kinase, and Aurora kinase. The method is selected, wherein a therapeutically effective amount of at least one compound, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, solvate, ester, isomer or prodrug of the compound is administered to a patient in need of the method.
