abstract | Provided is a small and low-priced moving speed detector capable of detecting the moving speed of a conductor surface with a simple configuration and at the same time capable of level detection, and includes such a moving speed detector. A continuous casting apparatus is provided. A moving speed detector 1 has a main coil 21 and a subcoil 22 provided equidistant from a conductor surface Za in parallel resonance with a capacitor 3 at the same current, and is affected by the movement of eddy currents on the conductor surface. The phase difference of the voltage waveform of the received main coil 21 and the subcoil 22 is detected, and the moving speed of the conductor surface Za is detected based on the phase difference, and based on the resonance frequency of the parallel resonance.
