abstract |
An object of the present invention is to provide a glycerol dehydration catalyst capable of producing acrolein while suppressing the amount of propionaldehyde generated from by-products, and a method for producing acrolein using the catalyst. A catalyst for dehydration of glycerin contains phosphorus and a metal phosphate containing at least one element selected from Group 2 elements, and includes alkaline earth metal elements, aluminum group metal elements, and rare earth metal elements. The ratio M / P of the number of moles M to the number of moles P of phosphorus exceeds 1, and at least has apatite crystals. In the method for producing acrolein, acrolein is produced by dehydrating glycerin in the presence of this catalyst. [Selection figure] None |
