titleOfInvention Needleless lure access connector
abstract A luer access device needle connector that allows a clinician to utilize a fluid flow path without using a sharp needle. A needleless luer access connector has a septum disposed in a housing. The septum has a base end portion 21 having a cross section, an intermediate portion 22 having a cross section smaller than the cross section of the base end portion 21, and a distal end portion 23. The longitudinal slit passes through the septum from the proximal end 21 to the distal end 23. The septum and housing are designed such that when the connector is utilized by a male luer taper, the septum is not rotated or detached from the housing. In addition, the septum and housing are designed to bias and close the slit at the distal end 23. [Selection] Figure 2
