A novel strain of Escherichia coli, a process for its preparation and its use in a fermentation process for the production of L-threonine |
abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microorganism that efficiently produces L-threonine at a high yield, but does not require any recombinant plasmid containing a gene encoding threonine biosynthetic enzyme, and preferably has no amino acid auxotrophy To do. The present invention relates to novel strains of Escherichia coli and fermentation processes involving these microorganisms. More particularly, the present invention relates to genetically modified Escherichiacoli strains and their use for the production of amino acids, particularly amino acids of members of the aspartic acid family such as threonine. The invention also relates to a method of preparing an E. coli strain for use in the fermentative production of amino acids. [Selection] Figure 5 |
