abstract |
A lipopolysaccharide having a reduced phospholipid content and a method for producing the same. A method comprising the steps of culturing a deep-rough mutant bacterial strain, collecting cells from the culture, and extracting LPS from the cells, and having at least about 20 mol% hexaacyl homolog group. It is possible to produce LPS that can be used to produce deacylated monophosphoryl lipid A (3D-MLA). Similarly, it is a method of extracting lipopolysaccharide (LPS) from a culture of deep rough mutant bacterial strain cells, extracting cells with a solution consisting of aliphatic alcohol and equilibrium water to produce cells with reduced phospholipid content, Cells with reduced phospholipid content are extracted with a solution containing chloroform and methanol to obtain an LPS solution. This method provides an LPS solution having a reduced phospholipid content and made by a relatively simple and inexpensive process. [Selection] Figure 1 |
