The present invention is directed to a composite effect yarn that can be a desired knitted or woven fabric having a desired visual effect, feel, and elasticity. A synthetic polymer yarn is disclosed that includes a composite yarn and a second yarn that are combined to form a single yarn. The composite yarn is made of a first component and a second component, each of which is made of a fiber-forming polymer, and each has a different shrinkage from the other to provide a bulky effect. For example, this difference in shrinkage can be obtained by using different polymers or similar polymers having different relative viscosities. The synthetic polymer yarn of the present invention advantageously has improved visual effects, including a stratification effect that enhances the visual properties of products made with the yarn. Furthermore, the touch and stretchability of the fabric produced from this yarn was improved. [Selection figure] None |
