abstract | To provide an ink composition for ink jet recording which is excellent in storage stability and excellent in solvent resistance of an image recorded by an ink jet method. An ink composition for ink jet recording comprising a urethane oligomer or polymer having at least one group selected from general formulas (1) to (3) in a side chain, and an organic solvent. R 1 and R 2 in (1) each independently represent H or an alkyl group, and R 1 and R 2 may be bonded to each other to form a ring. R 3 are each independently H, an alkyl group of the formula (2), an alkoxy group, an aryloxy group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, an aryloxycarbonyl group or a halogen atom, to form a ring R 3 together with each other Also good. R 4 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an aryl group.
