abstract |
An organic Rankine cycle energy recovery system wherein an ignitable component of the system, for example, a ignitable working fluid such as cyclopentane, has a dominant temperature higher than a spontaneous ignition temperature of the ignitable component. A system is provided that includes features that provide flame suppression and / or a fire suppression function when accidentally released to the surface. An organic Rankine cycle energy recovery system (10) is an inert gas source (34) disposed upstream of a hydrocarbon evaporator after the leakage from the hydrocarbon evaporator is detected.
