System for treating and preventing breast cancer |
abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for treating an individual at risk of breast cancer or suffering from breast cancer. A step of administering to an individual a first vector containing a first gene encoding a breast cancer-related antigen or an antigen portion thereof; and thereafter periodically containing a gene encoding the breast cancer-related antigen or an antigen portion thereof A method of inducing an immune response against cells expressing a breast cancer associated antigen in a human comprising administering at least a second vector. Furthermore, the method further comprises the step of administering at least one costimulatory molecule or granulocyte macrophage colony stimulating factor (GM-CSF). In particular, the method includes administering a recombinant poxvirus to an individual, wherein the poxvirus contains a foreign nucleic acid encoding at least one breast cancer antigen.
