An antiviral agent having excellent antiviral activity, a method for producing the same, an antiviral fiber product including the same, and an antiviral rayon fiber product are provided. The antiviral agent of the present invention is obtained by hydrothermal treatment of seed shells of plants belonging to the genus Pecan of the family Walnut at a temperature of 60 ° C. or higher.
