abstract A lip portion comprising a HIP layer that is directly diffusion bonded to a base material of a die body by HIP (hot isostatic pressing) treatment, and is densified to have excellent bending strength and toughness, and surface roughness. Provides a coating die having a lip portion that has a high-precision sharp edge and a good wear resistance and corrosion resistance. A coating die in which a lip portion 8 is provided on the tip end side of a die flow path 5 formed in a die body 4 and a coating liquid supplied to the die flow path 5 is discharged from the lip portion 8. Thus, at least the lip portion 8 is formed by the HIP layer 20 in which the alloy powder 19 having good corrosion resistance and wear resistance is directly diffusion bonded to the base material of the die body 4 by HIP treatment.
