An object of the present invention is to improve image quality from the viewpoint of design in a liquid crystal display device or the like which performs display by a field sequential method. In a pixel portion of a liquid crystal display device in which pixels whose input of an image signal is controlled by a transistor including a polycrystalline semiconductor or a single crystal semiconductor in a channel formation region is arranged in a matrix, the pixels are arranged in a matrix. Among these pixels, image signals are simultaneously supplied to pixels arranged in a plurality of rows. Thereby, the image quality of the liquid crystal display device can be improved.
