abstract An object of the present invention is to increase an input frequency of an image signal from a design viewpoint in a liquid crystal display device or the like that performs display by a field sequential method. A pixel portion of a liquid crystal display device in which pixels whose input of image signals is controlled by a transistor including an amorphous semiconductor or a microcrystalline semiconductor in a channel formation region is arranged in a matrix. Among these pixels, image signals are simultaneously supplied to pixels arranged in a plurality of rows. Accordingly, it is possible to increase the frequency of inputting an image signal to each pixel without changing the response speed of a transistor or the like included in the liquid crystal display device.
