abstract |
The present invention provides a molding mixture comprising mostly agricultural fibers and a small portion comprising a binder and a flow promoting filling accelerator. The molding mixture is substantially free of formaldehyde, has a low moisture content and a high draw ratio. The invention also provides a process for the production of molded articles and related parts based on the molding mixture described in the claims. Lightweight, high density and more complex shapes such as molded articles (830) and grooves (810) and plates (820) can be manufactured by the methods described in the claims. The method includes the steps of supplying the necessary materials to the molding mixture, mixing the supplied materials to form the molding mixture, shaking the molding mixture in preparation for compression molding, and a molded article and Compression molding a molding mixture to form associated parts.
