abstract |
A highly efficient method is provided that quantitatively measures modulation of heat shock protein (HSP) expression in a cell by exposing the cell to one or more stresses and subsequently measuring the stress response of the cell. Intracellular HSP or HSF by treating a cell with a drug such as a compound or composition, exposing the cell to stress, and subsequently measuring the cell's response to stress in the presence or absence of the drug Also provided is a highly efficient method for identifying regulators of expression (activators or inhibitors). Also provided are devices useful in the practice of high efficiency methods according to the present invention, and modulators identified using such methods. |
