Neisseria meningitidis is a leading cause of meningitis and sepsis worldwide. The technology of the present invention provides a native outer membrane vesicle from at least one genetically modified strain of Neisseria that provides protective immunity against meningococcal disease, more preferably subtype B meningococcal disease A vaccine composition comprising (NOMV) is provided. The technology of the present invention further provides a method of immunizing an animal or human against meningococcal disease comprising the step of administering a vaccine composition of the present invention. |
