titleOfInvention | Percutaneous spinal implant and method |
abstract | Described herein are medical devices and related methods for the treatment of spinal disorders. In one embodiment, the method includes disposing at least a portion of the support member (4310) in a space between adjacent spinous processes. The support member defines a lumen between the proximal end and the distal end of the support member. The distal end portion (4306) of the expandable member is disposed outside the distal end of the lumen, and the proximal end portion (4304) of the expandable member is external to the proximal end of the lumen. As deployed, the expandable member is inserted through the lumen of the support member. Then, the distal end portion and the proximal end portion of the expandable member are such that the distal end portion and the proximal end portion of the expandable member each have an outer diameter that is greater than the outer diameter of the support member.
