abstract The present invention is a generator for photovoltaic conversion of condensed sunlight into electricity. The generator according to the present invention incorporates a plurality of solar cells and is intended for operation near the focal point of a large parabolic reflector directed to the sun. In the generator, the incident condensed light is relayed by the secondary optical unit to a battery arranged in a compact concave array. Light is delivered to the battery with high concentration, consistent with high photovoltaic conversion efficiency and low battery cost per unit power output. The light preferably enters the generator first through a sealed window and passes through the objective lens, preferably in the form of a perfect sphere or ball lens centered on the paraboloid focus. This lens forms a concave wide-angle image concentric with the primary reflector, in which case the intensity of the collected light is stabilized against changes in the position of the collected light incident on the generator.
