titleOfInvention | Heterologous sequence expression |
abstract | The present invention provides compositions and methods for the expression of heterologous sequences. These compositions and methods are particularly useful for expressing large amounts of heterologous proteins and nucleic acids for therapeutic, diagnostic, and industrial applications. In one aspect, the invention provides a method of expressing a heterologous sequence in a host cell, the method comprising culturing the host cell in a medium and under conditions in which the heterologous sequence is expressed, A heterologous sequence is operably linked to a galactose-inducible regulatory element, and expression of the heterologous sequence is induced without directly supplementing the medium with galactose. |
