titleOfInvention | Method for preparing alkylene glycol |
abstract | The present invention provides methods of preparing alkylene glycols from alkylene oxides. The alkylene oxide is reacted with carbon dioxide in the presence of a carboxylation catalyst to obtain an alkylene carbonate; the alkylene carbonate is reacted with water in the presence of a hydrolysis catalyst to obtain an alkylene glycol. Add initial charge of carboxylation catalyst and initial charge of hydrolysis catalyst, monitor the degradation and activity of the hydrolysis catalyst, and add additional hydrolysis catalyst when the activity of the hydrolysis catalyst falls below the minimum level. Add the ingredients. |
