titleOfInvention | Method and apparatus for irradiating a surface with continuous wave or pulsed light |
abstract | A method and apparatus for irradiating a surface with at least one light beam emitted from an exit surface of an optical element. The cross section of the at least one light beam is greater than about 2 cm 2 and the time average irradiance at the cross section is in the range of about 10 mW / cm 2 to about 10 W / cm 2 . The at least one light beam has a temporal pulse width in the range between about 0.1 milliseconds and about 150 seconds and a time average irradiance in the range between about 1 mW / cm 2 and about 100 W / cm 2. A plurality of pulses may be included. |
