abstract Apparatus (10) and method (200) for producing nanoparticles. The apparatus and method allow nucleation and growth of nanoparticles at independent temperatures. The independent temperature allows the nanoparticles to grow in a controlled environment. As a result, spontaneous nucleation is avoided, particle size can be controlled, and production of substantially uniform size particles is facilitated. Furthermore, the device (10) allows the production of core-shell nanoparticles and core-shell-shell nanoparticles.
