abstract | The present invention provides flavonol compounds and biologically active extracts / fractions obtained from Ulmswartiana that are useful in the management or prevention or treatment of bone diseases. The extract / fraction is a marker compound represented by general formula 2 K058: R 1 = R 2 = OH, K012: R 1 = R 2 = OH, 2, 3 double bonds, K068: R 1 = R 2 = H K100: R 1 = OH, R 2 = H, and these marker compounds K012, K058, K068, K100 are 6.7-12%, 1.7-4.5%,. It is characterized by being in the range of 6-1.2% and 1.7-4.5%. The present invention further provides a process for obtaining these extracts. According to another aspect of the invention, a pharmacological component comprising said compound is provided. Furthermore, the present invention provides a method for treating bone diseases by administration by oral administration, intravenous administration, subcutaneous administration, intraperitoneal administration, or intramuscular administration. |
