titleOfInvention | Cap and nozzle assembly for tubes, containers and packages |
abstract | A cap for mounting over a nozzle having an elongated nozzle body, the cap having an elongated cap body having a longitudinal axis, an outer surface and an inner surface. The cap body has a closed end and an open end, and at least one side wall. The cap housing has an open end. The cap is for receiving the nozzle body of the nozzle and attaching it to the nozzle body. The cap has three elongated wings spaced apart, each wing having a wing shape that each forms part of the outer surface of the cap. Each wing extends from the mouth of the cap to the closed end of the cap and is continuous with the adjacent wing so that the outer surface of one wing is adjacent to each wing along with the outer surface of the adjacent wing. One continuous concave surface is formed between the wings. The cap has a partially helical or distorted profile, which provides a visual indication of the direction in which the cap is removed from the nozzle. The nozzle has an aligned recess that aligns with the concave surface of the cap. This cap and nozzle assembly is suitable as a closure for a container holding a curable product such as an adhesive. A locking ring for locking the nozzle to the tube can be formed on the tube. |
