titleOfInvention Seal structure for solid oxide fuel cell device
abstract Disclosed are seal materials and seal structures for use in electrochemical devices such as solid oxide fuel cell devices. An exemplary sealing structure includes (i) upward and inward, toward the active region of the electrolyte sheet surface where at least a portion of the interface between the sealant and the electrolyte sheet is coated with one or more device electrodes. or (ii) downwardly and inwardly configured to deviate from planarity by extending. By bending the sealing area of the electrolyte sheet at an angle, any sharpness of any bending or deformation that may occur during use can be mitigated, and therefore the likelihood of any crack formation in the typical high stress area of the electrolyte sheet. The degree can also be reduced. Furthermore, it is preferable that at least a part of the electrolyte sheet is in contact with the sealing composition, and the sealing material-electrolyte interface can be deviated from flatness by at least 0.1 mm from the reference plane of the sealing material-electrolyte interface. Is extended inward in the normal direction of the reference plane of the sealing material-electrolyte interface or toward the active surface area of the electrolyte sheet. An inventive seal structure and a method of making an assembled electrochemical device comprising the same are also disclosed.
