titleOfInvention | Sensors using combinatorial artificial receptors |
abstract | The present invention relates to sensors having artificial receptors and methods of use thereof. In one embodiment, the invention has an artificial receptor as a component of a receptor system with a ligand permeable interface that isolates the artificial receptor from certain components in the surrounding environment. In certain embodiments, the invention also has an artificial receptor and a competitor of the ligand of interest. In one embodiment, the invention also includes a competitive artificial receptor as a component of a detection system having a semipermeable membrane that isolates the competitive artificial receptor from certain components in the surrounding environment. Some embodiments also have a competitor and a detector coupled to a competitive artificial receptor to express function. From this detector, a signal is generated indicating that the competitor and / or the ligand of interest is bound to the artificial receptor. In the detection system, at least a portion of the competitor is retained around the artificial receptor using a ligand permeable interface. [Selection] Figure 3 |
