abstract |
The present invention relates to a method for detecting a critical situation of a subject. The method includes measuring a subject's physiological parameters. The method comprises: (a) measuring a physiological parameter; (b) calculating a rate of change of the physiological parameter; and (c) taking into account both the value of the parameter and its rate of change. Determining synthetic variables for physiological parameters; and (d) detecting a critical situation based on the synthetic variables (25). Advantageously, steps (a) to (c) are performed for at least two physiological parameters. The method then further includes determining a global decision variable (23) from a plurality of different composite variables, and a critical situation is detected based on the global decision variable in step (d). The present invention can be used to improve the detection of accidents or health problems, especially for the elderly at home. |
