Described herein are devices, compositions, systems, and related methods for occluding structures and dysfunctions using radiopaque hydrogel filaments having a delayed controlled rate of expansion. The hydrogel filaments can change the position of the device once it enters the structure or malfunction. Further described is a device for implantation in an animal comprising a bifunctional low molecular weight ethylenically unsaturated moldable macromer, an ethylenically unsaturated monomer, and a radiopaque component. Here, the device does not include a support member. A method of forming such a device is also disclosed. |
