Valve with delayed leaflet deployment |
abstract |
A valve (100) for use in a body lumen, the valve including a leaflet (104) that has been delayed in deployment when implanted in vivo. The valve includes a valve frame (102), a leaflet (104) coupled to the valve frame. The leaflets can be reversibly sealed for unidirectional flow of fluid through the valve, and at least the joints of the leaflets for a predetermined period of time once implanted in a living body. A biodegradable adhesive (122) is included between the leaflet and the valve frame to hold the valve in a fixed relationship to the valve frame. |
