abstract A novel antiviral peptide that inhibits the binding of virus to DLC8. Many virus-derived pathogens use dynein-based intracellular transport mechanisms at some point in the infection cycle. The present invention consists of a novel antiviral therapy consisting mainly of inhibiting viral infections caused by viruses using the dynein system, by an interference mechanism that inhibits the interaction between viral proteins and cellular DLC8 proteins. The present invention for the first time discloses the inhibition of the function of this interaction by a peptide whose sequence comprises or consists of the entire or partial sequence of a viral protein corresponding to the binding domain with DLC8.
