abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric device capable of increasing or decreasing a frequency. A piezoelectric device (100) according to a first aspect is a piezoelectric device in which a tuning fork type piezoelectric vibrating piece (50) is housed in a package (PKG). The tuning fork type piezoelectric vibrating piece (50) includes a base portion (23) formed of a piezoelectric material, a pair of vibrating arms (21) extending in parallel to a predetermined direction from the base portion, and a frequency adjusting portion formed on the tip side of the vibrating arm. (26). The package (PKG) has an insulating material part (56) on the inner surface (BT) of the package irradiated with the laser beam (L). The frequency adjusting section (26) includes a metal film (28a) extending in a predetermined direction and an electrode non-forming section (29a) extending in a predetermined direction so that the laser beam is transmitted and having no metal film formed thereon.
