abstract | To obtain a magnesium negative electrode and a zinc negative electrode having excellent discharge characteristics, capable of discharging a large current, and obtaining a sufficient discharge capacity. A negative electrode for a battery in which a metal mainly composed of magnesium or zinc is contained in an aluminum porous body. A negative electrode for a battery, wherein the amount of oxygen on the surface of aluminum forming the skeleton of the porous aluminum body is 3.1% by mass or less. A negative electrode for a battery, wherein the aluminum porous body has communication holes, no closed pores, and further comprises only aluminum. After forming an aluminum layer on the surface of the resin having communication holes, the resin is thermally decomposed at a temperature below the melting point of aluminum while maintaining the potential lower than the standard electrode potential of aluminum while the resin is immersed in molten salt. A method for producing a negative electrode for a battery, comprising producing a porous aluminum body and further containing a metal mainly composed of magnesium or zinc. [Selection] Figure 1 |
