abstract | The present invention provides coated magnetite particles having good charge rising properties and no excessive charging. The surface of magnetite core particles is coated with a silane compound. The ratio of the divalent iron present on the surface of the core particle was 20 to 30% with respect to the total amount of iron present on the surface of the core particle. And the thing of C2-C10 was used as the alkyl group which a silane compound has. It is preferable that the crystallite diameter of magnetite measured by X-ray diffraction method is 60 to 90 nm.
