titleOfInvention | Modified cardiolipin and uses thereof |
abstract | Compositions, methods, and devices for the detection of anti-lipoid antibodies and the diagnosis of diseases such as syphilis. Specifically, the use of oxidized cardiolipin that can be conjugated with various attachment molecules such as BSA, KLH, biotin, synthetic protein MAPS, IgY, streptavidin, or avidin. Such oxidized cardiolipin, alone or in combination with one or more attachment molecules, is useful for detecting anti-lipoid antibodies in a subject when used, for example, in a lateral flow device. Also, a lateral flow device is made that allows detection of anti-lipoidal antibodies as well as simultaneous detection of non-treponema and treponema antibodies in a biological sample.
