abstract | In a monitoring system for monitoring a plurality of measurement points, it is possible to ensure the responsiveness of measurement, reduce the possibility of communication collisions by each measuring device, and enable intermittent monitoring by a monitoring device. A monitoring apparatus distributes a first request signal to each measuring device by broadcast communication using a communication unit. Each measuring device 2 that has received the first request signal determines the request type of the received first request signal. As a result, it is determined that any of the measuring devices 2 has received the first request signal, and each measuring device 2 determines whether the numerical value output by the measuring unit satisfies the condition. Here, since the measurement result by the measurement unit does not satisfy the specified condition, the measurement device 2a does not reply to the received first request signal. On the other hand, since the measurement result by the measurement unit satisfies the specified condition, the measurement device 2b returns a first reply signal for the received first request signal to the monitoring device 1.
