abstract | The present invention provides a process for producing 1- (4-hydroxyphenyl) -1-cyclohexenes in a high yield and high purity easily industrially. A base of 1,1-bis (4-hydroxyphenyl) cyclohexane and 1- (4-hydroxyphenyl) -1- (2-hydroxyphenyl) cyclohexane in a weight ratio of 90/10 to 50/50. 1- (4-hydroxyphenyl) -1-cyclohexene as represented by the formula (3) is produced by thermal decomposition in the presence of a neutral catalyst. (Wherein R1 represents an alkyl group, alkoxy group, aryl group, aryloxy group or halogen; R2 represents a hydrogen atom, alkyl group, alkoxy group, aryl group, aryloxy group or halogen; a is 0 or 1; Represents an integer of ~ 4, provided that when a is 2 or more, R1 may be the same or different.
