abstract | To suppress deformation of an input member. A narrow pressure adjusting mechanism in which an input cone connected to an input shaft and an output cone connected to the output shaft are arranged in opposite directions to convert torque acting on the output shaft into a force in the direction of the output shaft. With a continuously variable transmission in which the ring is narrowed with a large narrow pressure as the torque acting on the output shaft increases, the position of the ring is at the maximum diameter of the output member that is the large diameter side end of the output cone. When the output torque Tout as the torque acting on the output shaft is equal to or greater than the threshold value Tref (S120), the ring is slid to the smaller diameter side of the output cone (S130, S140).
