Ε-Caprolactam is produced from cyclohexanone oxime by using an inexpensive catalyst and solvent and an inexpensive and useful additive. Cyclohexanone oxime is subjected to liquid phase rearrangement using a trisubstituted triazine having at least two electron withdrawing substituents as a rearrangement catalyst and coexisting with an oxime compound having 8 to 12 carbon atoms.
