abstract | In a thermal recording material in which a thermal recording layer and a protective layer are substantially simultaneously curtain-coated after providing an undercoat layer containing a pigment and a binder on a support, interlayer mixing is suppressed and good color development is achieved. A heat-sensitive recording material having sensitivity, solvent barrier properties, and sticking suitability is provided. An undercoat layer containing a pigment, a binder, boric acid or borax is provided on a support, and then a plurality of coating liquids constituting a heat-sensitive recording layer and a protective layer are substantially simultaneously curtain-coated.
