titleOfInvention Method for removing copper in steel scrap and method for producing molten steel using steel scrap as an iron source
abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently dissolve steel scrap with a small amount of energy consumption when manufacturing high-grade steel using steel scrap as an iron source, and without requiring efficient and large-scale equipment for copper in the steel scrap A copper removal method that can be removed is provided. The method for removing copper in steel scrap of the present invention comprises a melting chamber 2 and a shaft-type preheating chamber 3 directly connected to the upper portion of the melting chamber and into which exhaust gas generated in the melting chamber is introduced. The arc furnace 1 is used, and the steel scrap is carburized and melted in the melting chamber while supplying the steel scrap to the preheating chamber so that the steel scrap 20 is continuously present in the preheating chamber and the melting chamber. Then, the molten iron 21 is generated, and then the sulfur contained flux is blown and added to the molten iron in the generated melting chamber via the flux blowing lance 10 for removing copper to remove the copper contained in the molten iron, After the copper is removed, the molten iron is discharged from an arc furnace into a holding container.
