abstract |
A method for producing carbon nanotubes and carbon nanostructures using chemical vapor deposition, in which individual carbon nanotubes are synthesized at preselected positions on a substrate. An organometallic layer is deposited on a substrate with a deposition mask. When the mask is removed, the portion deposited on the mask of the organometallic precursor is also removed. The remaining portion of the organometallic layer is oxidized to obtain a metal growth catalyst on the substrate that can be used for the synthesis of carbon nanostructures. [Selection] Figure 1 |
