abstract | Provided are a pigment having high dispersibility that can realize stable flow characteristics and storage stability, a method for producing the pigment, a pigment dispersion, an ink, an ink cartridge, and an ink jet printer. A pigment (black, yellow, magenta, cyan, white, etc.) is dispersed in a liquid obtained by mixing polyacryloylmorpholine (for example, weight average molecular weight 1000 to 1,000,000) and a solvent, and then the solvent is removed. The surface of the pigment is coated with the polyacryloylmorpholine to obtain a polyacryloylmorpholine-coated pigment. The coated pigment and a dispersion medium (for example, polyethoxylated tetramethylolmethane tetraacrylate) are used to form a dispersion, and necessary components (surfactant, polymerization inhibitor, etc.) are added as appropriate to form an ink. An ink cartridge containing this ink is constructed, and is mounted on the printing unit (1, 5, 6, 7) and recorded by the ink jet method. [Selection] Figure 1 |
