abstract [Problem] To provide a polymer exhibiting excellent lipase inhibitory activity, using as a raw material monomers rich in human experience such as food experience. The polymer of the present invention is obtained by oxidative polymerization of vanillin, eugenol, maltol or a similar compound thereof. The related compound of vanillin is a predetermined phenyl compound, the related compound of eugenol is a predetermined phenol derivative, and the related compound of maltol is a predetermined maltol derivative.
