abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method capable of obtaining high image quality in a printed matter formed while achieving energy saving, and a printed matter obtained thereby. SOLUTION: A printed matter is obtained by holding a toner consisting only of toner particles or a toner image formed of toner particles and a toner consisting of an external additive on a toner holding material layer formed on an image supporting substrate. An image forming method comprising: For the toner used for forming the toner image, the toner is dispersed in a 0.01 wt% sodium dodecyl sulfonate aqueous solution so that the solid content is 10 wt%, and an ultrasonic wave is applied at an output of 150 W for 60 seconds.
